THE DESIGNER
Making complex systems
feel simple.
I started out thinking design was about making things beautiful. Now I know it's about making things work, for real people, under real pressure, inside real organisations that have competing priorities and finite resources.
I've shipped products at SAP, Motive, and Scispace. Along the way, I've reframed briefs that were solving the wrong problem, made the case for second iterations that weren't in scope, and built the rituals, weekly reviews, hiring frameworks, mentorship, that make good design stick beyond any single project.
HOW I WORK
Good design needs a culture to survive.
The most important design work I've done isn't in any prototype. It's in the processes, rituals, and relationships that help a team keep making good decisions when I'm not in the room.
Design Reviews & Critique
I established weekly design review cadences at SAP that created a shared quality bar across teams. Structured critique reduces revision cycles and aligns stakeholders before decisions get expensive to change.
Hiring & Team Building
I've contributed to designer hiring, writing role definitions, running portfolio reviews, and making the case for design headcount. Getting the right people in the door is among the highest-leverage design decisions a team can make.
Startup Mentorship
I voluntarily mentor early-stage startups on their design direction, from structuring a first design hire to defining a product's visual language. Translating enterprise-scale thinking to startup constraints sharpens both.
Cross-functional Clarity
I translate between engineering, product, and business. Reframing a feature request as a user need, or presenting design rationale in terms of engineering cost, I work to reduce friction at every handoff.
BEYOND THE SCREEN
Life outside the pixels.
The same qualities that make me a great designer, patience, curiosity, and love of depth, show up in how I spend my time away from screens.
IN THE COMMUNITY
Design is a community sport.
The ideas that sharpen my work don't all come from inside a product team. Some come from sitting in a room with 120 designers arguing about enterprise UX, or from watching a junior designer present their first usability test. I show up to both.
